Welcome to the Quilter's Academy Journal

Hello!
Harriet and I are glad you visited... we established this blog as a sort of question and answer forum for all of you who are working through the Quilter's Academy book series.
It is also a place to find a list of the errata from the books-
You can find those by looking back through the archived blogs.

So, welcome, and please post a comment if you have any questions or topics you would like us to discuss.

Book update...

We are sorry to have not written for a while!
Just a quick update- Harriet is feverishly working on Book 4, Carrie just completed one of the editing rounds on Book 3 and is starting to make the quilts for Book 4.
We have our first Quilter's Academy 5 day boot camp coming up in September- it is full and so we are looking at other dates in 2011 to schedule at least two more QA 1 boot camps. You can check out all the information of the boot camps on Harriet's website at www.harriethargrave.com and click on the "Retreats" link on the left hand side of the home page.

Keep your comments and questions coming so we can keep tabs on your progress!

Happy Quilting!
Carrie & Harriet

  1. Just a note to let you know that I have all of your books and recently ordered the graph paper on Amazon! I purchased a Safco table as a second table for my sewing room and it is a great fit for my Bernina Activa. I look forward to your next book!

  5. Oh how I need Boot Camp! And what a great idea, sounds SO much more purposeful than a "Retreat" - !! Do you think we could make the concept work in the UK??

  7. I recently purchased voumes 1 and 2 of the Quilter's Academy series because I am new to quilting, and I thought thses books would certainly be a good "how-to" course. I have read volume 1 a couple times before diving in, and I want to say these books are well written and organized. I am especially impressed with the thorough instructions and graphics. Thank you and keep up the good work. Marge Welter

  8. I am a Huge Fan of QA books, I just got VOl III. and passed the good news on to my quilting boards about it. a member asked me "is it really worth it, I have so many reference books? My reply was, you know I also have many reference books on quilting but if you told me I had to give them all up and keep only one set which one would i keep, hands down it would be Quilters Academy VOl I, II, III and I will wait for the rest to come out! They provide more information than you will get anywhere else, they tell you why, they give you options if possible, they explain things to you. I love these books, I treasure them. The wealth of information in them is unbelievable. I could sell these books to anyone. That is how much I believe they are the best quilting book out there. I also have Harriet book on machine quilting i recently bought. Next I want her book on applique. She is my idol-I don't think anyone else can put a book together and teach quilting like she does. She and Carrie do a superb job! I tell everyone. This is the only book you will every need! Get it NOW. Marlene in Arizona
